UNIQLO Metrotown
Uniqlo launched its first store in Vancouver’s most prominent shopping centre, Metropolis at Metrotown. The highly anticipated new build store is comprised of 25,000 square feet over 2 levels. This is the first store that Japanese retailer Uniqlo has opened in Western Canada in an attempt to expand their market. The aesthetic of the store is simple and casual, reflective of their brand, but that does not take away from the fine details in the craftsmanship. A feature internal staircase and elevators connect the two floors, high-end millwork, glazing, and upgraded ceilings. The back of the house included a staff kitchen and eating area for employees, a training room, private office, and a meeting room. Despite the project’s tight budget and schedule, we were able to complete the space in just 4.5 months.
