The Bloor Street project, its flagship location, is a 10-phased occupied renovation integrating high-end interiors, as well as full building façade replacement and mechanical and electrical system overhaul. Unique features were reinforcing the roof and constructing a new mechanical penthouse. Key challenges included coordinating with the landlord, owner, and subtenants on schedule implications, downtime, and a full weather wall to accommodate for the façade placement. In order to ensure a pleasant shopping experience for their patrons during construction, a series of micro schedules were developed to minimize disruption during regular hours. The scope of work included the cosmetics concourse, women’s shoe department, retail areas across all three floors, and a new Holts Café located on the third level.
