Nowhere could this be more evident than in our commitment to creating diverse and inclusive environments. We have set the bar for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion in construction and are proud of the fact that we are a visibly diverse company in a historically homogeneous industry.
We are continually looking at ways we can build differently and dismantle barriers to access in the construction industry. Some of the initiatives we have developed to date include:

The Futures Award
is a scholarship program that provides financial support and an internship at Govan Brown to black, Indigenous, and people of colour (BIPOC) to pursue their dreams within construction. Our modest goal is to reduce barriers for underrepresented groups in the construction industry and to play a supporting role in the stories of our true stars, the inspiring future generation.
Driving change in our industry when it comes to the inclusion and promotion of women in construction is of great importance at Govan Brown. We are intent on doing our part in breaking down barriers, unconscious biases, and other obstacles that may discourage women from taking their rightful place in construction. From speaking to groups of female high school students about the experiences and opportunities in construction to our active participation in CAWIC, we are hopeful these contributions will continue to change the demographics of our industry.
