The 3rd of our program work with Nordstrom, the undertaking consisted of completing both exterior and interior improvements to a new three story retail building which occupies approximately 198,000 square feet.
Nordstrom entrusted Govan Brown with their expansion into the Ontario market including, Ottawa and two locations in Toronto; Yorkdale Shopping Centre and the Toronto Eaton Centre being the Canadian Flagship store. The Nordstrom space occupies two floors and 157,000 square feet of Ottawa’s Rideau Shopping Centre.
The Simons CORE location in Calgary is the third Simons location built by Govan Brown and the first to be tackled in Alberta. This large 95,000 square foot location involves four levels in one building and two levels in an adjacent building connected to the Core Shopping Mall.
Uniqlo launched its first store in Vancouver’s most prominent shopping centre, Metropolis at Metrotown. The highly anticipated new build store is comprised of 25,000 square feet over 2 levels.
A multi phased upgrade of 150,000 square feet of existing space and a 45,000 square foot expansion of Holt Renfrew’s space on Dunsmuir Street in Vancouver.
Simons’ Londonderry Mall in Edmonton is Govan Brown’s fourth tenant improvement project for Maison Simons and the second in Alberta. The store features a 50ft-long installation suspended from the second floor ceiling, and Simons brands Maison Home, Twik, and Icone.
The Bloor Street project, its flagship location, is a 10-phased occupied renovation integrating high-end interiors, as well as full building façade replacement and mechanical and electrical system overhaul. Unique features were reinforcing the roof and constructing a new mechanical penthouse.
Comprised of three stories, Govan Brown was tasked with renovating the Toronto Eaton Centre’s interior façade, as well as the exterior façade that faces Yonge Street.
After ringing in its much anticipated grand opening in November 2019 at 55 Bloor Street in Toronto, Eataly is the largest Italian marketplace in the world. The concept is a hybrid supermarket-restaurant and is comprised of various restaurants, food vendors, and bakeries.
