Uber Greenlight
In 2017, Govan Brown was retained to complete a 2,760 square foot office build in Ottawa for Uber. Completed in seven weeks, the office is complete with open and closed offices, meeting rooms, training rooms, a staff kitchen, and IT server room. Our scope also included major mechanical, electrical and HVAC elements to support the staff as well as a new interior concrete ramp to make the office fully accessible. Given the accelerated schedule it was crucial for our team and the client team to be completely in sync from the beginning. Coordination was most important when selecting long lead items, especially new fan coils which had a six week lead time in a construction schedule of seven weeks. Similarly, due to unforeseen site conditions, we were required to revise our initial concrete ramp design. Thanks to a capable project team and the support of our trades, we were able to secure and install all long-lead items and rectify the concrete ramp design without compromising the construction schedule or budget. Furthermore, the client was pleased with the turnover as we managed to complete the project with little to no deficiencies in all scopes.
