Having outgrown their previous digs, their team of 200 had decided to relocate to one of the city’s most iconic buildings, the CBC Broadcast Centre. The former production studio and Canadian institution presented a blank canvas to the innovative and imaginative team who were invited to play a lead part in designing what would be their new home.
In 2007, KPMG retained Govan Brown as their construction managers to oversee the build-out of their new office in the newly constructed Bay-Adelaide Centre. KPMG was to be the anchor tenant of the new tower and leased 11 floors for their corporate offices amounting to roughly 304,000 square feet of space.
In 2017, Govan Brown was retained to complete a 2,760 square foot office build in Ottawa for Uber. Completed in seven weeks, the office is complete with open and closed offices, meeting rooms, training rooms, a staff kitchen, and IT server room.
The Golder project was a renovation of 4 floors in the Scotiabank Tower in downtown Calgary. The space includes open and private offices, meeting rooms, boardroom, quiet room and an open cafeteria lounge for staff.
The highly focused WeirFoulds space completed in downtown Toronto’s TD Centre was a project that relied heavily on the collaboration of the Govan Brown team and all other project stakeholders.
A 2 floor, 35,000 sf new fit out for their offices in Stantec Tower located in the prestigious ICE District. This project features many high-end design and architectural elements.
Spread across two floors at 20 Wellington Street in Toronto, BDO’s fit-out reflects the firm’s commitment to sustainability principles and employee wellness. The space feature flexible workplaces comprised of both open and private offices.
Morrison Hershfield secured a 30,000+ square foot lease that combined three+ floors and almost a full building at 2932 Baseline Road in the West end of Ottawa through Manulife Real Estate. A full move for all MH staff was conceptualized into a beautifully aesthetic workspace that combines variations of glazing to accommodate natural light into their space, high-end finishes, and modern design.
Penguin Random House retained Govan Brown in 2014 to build a large space in downtown Toronto that would act as a consolidating space for multiple offices that had leases expiring the following year. The newly acquired space amounted to 52,000 square feet spread across 3 floors, two of which are connected by a new internal staircase.
