Morrison Hershfield
Morrison Hershfield secured a 30,000+ square foot lease that combined three+ floors and almost a full building at 2932 Baseline Road in the West end of Ottawa through Manulife Real Estate. A full move for all MH staff was conceptualized into a beautifully aesthetic workspace that combines variations of glazing to accommodate natural light into their space, high-end finishes, and modern design.
The outer perimeter of each floor houses the workspaces for the various teams. The project also included multiple high-end serveries on each floor along with custom-designed locally sourced wood slat ceilings on the 2nd and 3rd floors as you exit the elevator along with tailored elevator surrounds. These required a high level of workmanship by the millworker to execute flawlessly and the results were indicative of the time spent on these key architectural features. The boardrooms on each floor with the largest on the 2nd floor combines full glass partitions and full height double wood doors, customized millwork, a custom-designed ceiling detail as well as a sophisticated AV/IT solution that required intensive coordination with the client to achieve their goal in a compressed timeline. This was separated into a phase 2 that correlated with their secondary move. It was not without its challenges as the Govan Brown team had to coordinate and rework mechanical elements to achieve the client’s vision. LAN rooms on each floor with a late fiber cabling addition was executed in haste by our team to help the client meet their IT requirements.
