This renovation for McKinsey & Co. is a heritage building with some salvaging and reuse of existing heritage finishes including stone and wood. The project spans over 3 floors and is a full demo and renovation of office areas. Creating a more open and increasing functionality within the space. Reconfiguration of a large atrium area with large structurally supported overhead media display. During the construction phase we had to isolate an existing presentation centre for both sound and services. The scope also includes modernizing the elevator in the building and constructing scaffolding on the exterior of the building to gain access to the second and third floors. . The space was designed to create the first Financial Technology Innovation Lab with state-of-the-art technology, meeting and training facilities.
Construction began in June 2019 and the space was built on an accelerated schedule. Our scope included the coordination of all procured products, services, and equipment, along with the coordination and management of ongoing changes throughout the project. The innovative space is outfitted with many amenities indicative of the firm’s organization. One of which being the nerve centre, a meeting room with ceiling sensors that track movement and display your mirror movements onto wall mounted monitors when giving a presentation. Another area is an open and rentable work zone which is collaborative space for their clients to use when they are in town.
