CI Financial
In addition to the 3 floors (18-20) Govan Brown built for CI Financial in 2005 at 2 Queen Street East, Govan Brown completed the interior renovation of their newly acquired 12th floor space in the same building to accommodate new departments. Completed in multiple phases commencing in May 2016, the project took 19 months to complete and included 2 new main boardrooms, a new reception area and lobby, open offices and workstations, private offices, training rooms, a new LAN and IT server room, a staff cafeteria, kitchen and staff lounges. Black steel frames encase all boardroom and servery doors, and a bronze inlay that runs through the reception floor to the elevator lobby is featured. High end finishes in the reception area and main boardroom, and a bronze glass atrium feature piece were factored into the space. Some of the challenges of working in the space were having to work with the existing sky-fold partitions in the new boardroom ceilings and accommodate them into the design of the office, as well, phase III was completed while the client had already moved into their new space so we had to ensure noisy work was completed after work hours and that construction debris was cleaned after each day.
