     On Wednesday, May 14, Govan Brown Partner, Jon Taylor, participated in the Young Governors Council's POWER Breakfast. The gathering consisted of 40, 20-35 year old Junior Achievement Central  Ontario (JACO) members and guests, all discussing prospects with some of Toronto's most distinguished business professionals. The attendees seized the opportunity to connect with other likeminded young professionals and Q&A sessions with the distinguished guests.

Shuter. Featured were  three prominent speakers who all had the opportunity to offer their expertise. Jon Taylor, second among the three speakers, took the opportunity to encourage the merits of business and volunteering. Taylor's extensive involvement in multiple charitable organizatoins, most notably the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation (where Jon is on the board), made him the ideal speaker on the topic of altruism and community involvement. Jon addressed the advatages of combining business with community outreach. All organizations possess the ability to

 

develop mutually beneficial relationships with their respective communities, and in doing so, improve themselves and their surroundings. Govan Brown has been actively volunteering through several organizations in the Toronto area including Queen Victoria Public School, The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, Habitat for Humanity, Camp Oochigeas, The Stop Community Food Centre, The Lupus Flair Foundation, Second Harvast and Canfar.
