govan brown takes the ice bucket challenge

The Partners at govan Brown took advantage of the brief break from stormy weather September 4, 2014 to take part in the sweeping donation effort known as the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. The Ice Bucket Challenge has deservedly gained extensive coverage in the past few months. The Challenge consists of very obviously filling a bucket full of water and ice and proceeding to dump it on yourself or a peer in order to raise money and awareness of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis which is also known as known as Lou Gehrig's disease.

All three Partners, Jon Taylor, John Brown and Ralph Govan all took the plunge to show their support for the continued research of ALS while incidentally providing much entertainment for the staff. Being placed adjacent to the Govan Brown cube truck in the Toronto office's parking lot, the partners stood below three very willing employees charged with the duty of pouring the freezing water. A hushed silence fell upon the crowd and after a count of three, the buckets were upturned and their refreshing contents aggressively fell on the formerly warm heads and

shoulders of the unlucky recipients; much to the pleasure of the on-looking crowd. Despite a few exacerbated cries and curses of discomfort, the three bucketeers handled their icing like champs.

We are happy to perpetuate the awareness of this truly terrible and debilitating affliction, please, if you haven't already, donate to the cause and help support the continued research and the victims of ALS: http://www.alsbc.ca/donate
