GOVAN BROWN RIDES IN THE CYCLING 4 ST. JOE'S CHARITY BIKE RIDE

On Sunday, September 28th, 8 members of the Govan Brown staff took part in the Cycling 4 St. Joe's Charity bike ride near Eagle's Nest Course in Caledon, north of Toronto. Money raised from the event went directly to St. Joe's Health Centre, one of the busiest emergency departments in the GTA. From the funds raised, participants and their donors will be supporting training for ST. Joe's physicians and staff, patients, facility renovations and medical equipment.  The ride provided the  option of  participating in 15, 45 or 75 km rides. Registration began

at 7:30am. 250 participants through their fundraising efforts managed to raise over $215,000. The ride was followed by a lunch buffet and a closing awards cermony. Along with riding in the event, Govan Brown also acted as valued sponsor of the bike ride. Impressively, our team managed to raise amongst themselves over $12,000. In our matching biking uniforms, we were quite the attraction out on the road. While also looking flashing, the majority of our participants chose the grueling 75 km route. It was eventful day, and being able to  particpate in such a great

cause was a rewarding experience for all invovled. About St. Joes: A strong community needs great care close to home.
